Specialized 1:1 Tutoring, adult day ervices & Family Support
Whether you need flexibility for your schedule, a faster path to achieving a higher level, or benefit from individualized support, our instructors are available to provide private or semi-adult tailored day services, college support, advocacy, life skills, and tutoring.
Our individualized instruction is customized to fit each student’s needs, goals, and learning style. This is why Sensei Mallica has dedicated herself to create programs specifically designed for each student’s learning, emotional, social, and physical success.
During the intake process, our staff will meet with parent(s) or guardians to gain a better understanding of their child’s needs and discuss areas that require greater support, which can also include Life Skills coaching. Based on this information, we will plan the best way to connect, observe and learn the needs of the student. After this has been completed, we will then discuss a plan and confirm a schedule that works for the family.

College Support Program
In collaboration with the Santa Monica College Center for Students with Disabilities, students can receive individualized support from a BKLA Personal Attendant (PA) as they navigate their college experience.
College is about so much more than getting to class — it’s:

Support can include:

📚 Class preparation & attendance — organizing materials, locating classrooms and navigating campus

✏️ Academic support & tutoring — managing assignments, deadlines, studying and presentations

🙋 Course engagement — communicating with professors, taking notes, participating in class and working on group projects

🌱 Life skills — organization, planning, independence and self-advocacy

🤝 Campus & community involvement — office hours, study groups, clubs, activities and campus resources

🎯 Career planning & college success skills
The goal is not simply to help students attend college, but to give them the individualized structure and support they need to participate fully, build independence and experience college successfully.
Funding & Enrollment
The College Support Program is $125/hour and is available for Self Determination or private-pay families.
Please note: This program is not currently available through traditional Regional Center funding, though we are actively working on getting the program approved.
