Jocie's Story

Beyond Karate student punching with blue gloves

Jocie began her martial arts journey at the age of 7 under the guidance of Sensei Mallica. While she initially faced a mix of excitement and anxiety, her dedication soon led her to embrace the experience fully, attending camps and classes regularly. Jocie's passion and commitment made her the first student to be hired into the program, and today, she shares her knowledge and enthusiasm by helping coach the 11:30 AM Saturday class. With a natural ability to bring joy to others, Jocie continues to inspire and uplift everyone she trains with.

Oliver's Story

Oliver has been a dedicated part of the program for over 1 ½ years, where he has taken on a leadership role as the lead of the women’s class. Despite initial battles with anxiety, Oliver has grown into a confident instructor, assisting with group classes and working as a youth counselor. His ability to connect with others and support those around him has made him a valuable asset, whether in personal training, group classes, or his work with the youth. Oliver’s commitment to growth and helping others shine is evident in everything he does.

Aysel is an active participant in group classes at private lessons and has made incredible progress in her training, transitioning from a little hesitant to full-out sparring. Aysel has a nurturing spirit, especially with the Panda Kai class, and dreams of teaching pre school one day. Balancing her passion for martial arts with her college studies, Aysel is committed to both her personal growth and helping others along their journey.
